Vallvidrera Funicular

The Vallvidrera Funicular (Funicular de Vallvidrera) is a funicular in Barcelona,, which connects the Peu del Funicular station with the Vallvidrera district, located in the Collserola mountain range.

Funicular was opened on October 24, 1906, built by Sarrià Ferrocarril Barcelona (FSB). Since October 7, 1979, it has been operated by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC). Old funicular was closed in 1998 for renovation. After the reconstruction funicular became fully automated.

Travel time to the upper station is 2 minutes and 50 seconds (excluding stops). Traffic interval is about 6 minutes on weekdays, less frequently on weekends and public holidays.

Funicular is integrated in ATM 1 tariff zone (the same tickets are valid as for other Barcelona transport). You can transfer to the funicular from train station "Peu del Funicular".

 Vallvidrera Funicular consists of 2 cars with a capacity 50 person / each. Funicular maximum speed is 5 m / s.
